Le Dorat

Le Dorat is situated in the Haute Vienne, a department of the Limousin. The Limousin department is made up of three departments; Haute Vienne, Correze and Cruese. Bellac also borders the Charente and Vienne departments and are part of the Novelle Aquitaine.

​

Le Dorat is a world renowned town having hosted the Sheep Shearing World Championships in 2019 and in 2017 hosted a stage of Le Tour (The Tour de France). The local Hippodrome is close by and hosts horse racing in June, July and August.

​

The local villages around Le Dorat include Saint Sornin La Marche, Magnac Laval, Dinsac, La Bazeuge and Oradour Saint Genest.

Le Dorat is 60 minutes from Limoges, 30 minutes from Montmorillon, 40 minutes from Confolens, 70 minutes from Poitiers, 40 minutes from Gueret and 40 minutes from Argenton sur Creuse.
