Limousin

Limousin is a rural region located in south-west central France. It is famous for its distinctive chestnut red herds of Limousin cattle, which produce some of the best beef farming in the world. The region is also home to major timber production.

Limousin contains forests of French Oak trees. The region is famed for its distinct flavours in wine fermentation, and vintner Rémy Martin owns the region’s oak groves. Limoges, the region’s capital, is famous for producing porcelain and enamelware. It was once an industrial power base and is still a leading city for electrical equipment factories.
